Dialogue Duo
The Dialogue Duo was founded in 2002.
Flutist Noémi Győri and guitarist Katalin Koltai met and started to play together during their first year at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. During their university studies, they attended the chamber music classes of Géza Hargitai (Bartók Quartet) and Balázs Arnóth; and participated in numerous masterclasses with such masters as Rita Wagner, György Vashegyi, Craig Goodman, László Hadady, Daniel Blumenthal and András Adorján.
The ensemble was invited to participate with scholarship at the Thy Chamber Music Festival (Denmark) in 2004 and at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in 2006, and besides that gave concerts on many prestigious festivals and venues around Europe in Hungary, Belgium, Finland, Denmark and Germany.
Dialogue Duo has a highly unique and wide repertoire. Besides being confident in playing the standard guitar-flute duo literature, they take special pride in having created a range of transcriptions themselves (amongst these several sonatas of Haydn and Mozart). They also continuously cooperate with composers, and premiere pieces dedicated to them. They are regarded as outstanding interprets of contemporary music, after their successful performances at the Contemporary Music Festival of Young Composers in Hungary and in the Hungarian Radio.
The duo is engaged to record their first common official CD in 2011. The CD will include musical rarities from the 18th century.
